ABOUT Kagetsu

Kagetsu Buic is an Australian fine-art nature/adventure photographer residing in Melbourne, Australia. His photographic works represent his passion for natural interactions, and the solitude of natural environments, while holding his core values of environmental conservation, and the protection of wildlife.

Buic's works depict natural landscape vistas, environmental details and natural behaviours of animals in their environment from around the world, from the Antarctic to the Arctic.

“I enjoy working in challenging environments such as in Antarctica, Iceland or the Atacama, and don't mind the punishment required to take photographs in them. Often, the more effort that went into capturing the image, the more the image will speak to me. I strive to adjust my methods and artistic style as each location touches me in a new way, and teaches me to take new perspective.”

Buic has continued to practice photography throughout the Covid 19 pandemic and further refine his style and intentions through his photography. While previous expeditions have been to locations of significant environmental importance, he has recently begun exploring environments closer to home that have been placed in imminent danger by poor environmental protection practices, such as the Takayna region of North-Western Tasmania and impacts of humans on various ecosystems.
